Week 5 Word Problem

Task description: This week in week 5 in my math class we were working on our word problem. Want I wanted to achieve was to do some different ways and so in some slide I did two ways but in some slide I did one. So this is my work and for me it was quite hard question and easy one too. Inga six sentence writing!


Walt: Create a Narrative.

 Once upon a time there was a beautiful young girl named Little Red. She lived in a small cottage under a huge tree. Little Red special talent was her sweet lovely voice, which attracted all creatures in the forest. Unfortunately she felt sad and very lonely. Her wish was to become a singer because she wanted to showcase her voice in front of a huge crowd. She moved to the city, met a director and she got a contract for a lead role in a brand new musical production called Little Red Riding hood.

Task description: This week in my class class we were doing writing and our task was to write a narrative but only six sentences. Well what I chose for my narrative was Little Red but a twist. But what we were learning first was what each sentence is and well the first sentence is introducing the character. Second sentence is where the character live and the rest was of the four sentence is the character talent, problem, and how it solve. This is my writing.

What makes a great daughter.


WALT: identify and use features of explanation writing

Do you know what makes a great daughter? They would have a warm hearted soul to help,
showing respect, and using her initiative. 


Firstly, being helpful plays and huge and important role of being a great daughter.
By showing that is when their mother having a difficult time cleaning, She then comes to the rescue and
help her mother clean. Also showing that is when coming back after school she does her chores first
too.

Secondly, using your initiative is helpful. Because example like my cousin named Setaita.
Whenever she comes back from school she will always cleans the lounge, do her bed, and cook dinner.

Lastly being respectful is one of the most important key, at what makes a great daughter.
How you show being respectful is when there is a funeral happening and each family member doing
their speech. She is always paying attention to those who are speaking.

Overall these are my suggestions for what makes a great daughter. So firstly be helpful,
use your initiative, and always be respectful. For some girls who are need some suggestions,
then I recommend yous guys to read this. But for those who doesn’t need some suggestions then okay,
but let me ask you this. What are your suggestions?

This week we are doing an explanation writing. I got use to it when my teacher help me, because the fact that it was hard cooperate the example in the introduction. But the other paragraph were very fun. Because I got inspired by my family. So my writing is about what makes a great daughter.

Tuluinga Week 2 Problem Math

This week our main focus was to solve out mixture problem with different Strategies. My goal was to try different ways and also to the same too. So I found this difficult and quite easy because those last three question made me think really hard but I accomplish it and what was those question we takeaway subtraction and more. Task description: This term our theme was life's a Stage and it was base on plays and drama. Here is my literacy class and in this story was about they were doing a play in their school theatre. For our create task after this we have to do a play but instead me and my friend are doing a Much Ado play slide. Tuluinga What makes a great leader?

WALT: identify and use features of explanation writing.



Do you have someone in your family who you look up to as a successful leader? A great leader is a person who shows they are fully committed of being in the team, having belief in them self, and having the ability to work with their team.


Firstly, what makes an effective leader is Commitment. Commitment is when you say you do it, then do it. By showing that is my director Mr Jacobsen. Because when we were doing our practice he was the one who organize everything, and one this that appears to me his commitment.

Secondly, a great leader always have confidence in them self. For leader confidence helps, because they are showing that they are determined. Example like, having the strength to do their mihi in front of lot of people like my teachers. Because they have been believing them self and were confident of doing their mihi.


Also,  What makes a great leader is having the ability to work with their team. Cooperation is one of the important things that make a great leader. How they show their cooperation is when there is no argument and violence. Instead they are being on the same page.

In week 1 we are learning how to do a explanation writing. Our task was to write about what makes a great leader. In my opinion I had a hard time writing my information but I got help by my teacher. Well this is my writing of what makes a great leader.

Loud shirt day!












Do you know what's today? Hmm Well it is loud shirt day, and also the last day of term 3 too. Did you know why we are wearing loud shirt? Because we are trying to fund-raise for the people who are deaf, but we have to pay only a gold coin.

I am very happy because I really love wearing bright colors and it made me happy to wear it. So up top is all the photos of me and friends who are wearing loud shirt. Their name is Zaeeda and Te Rangimarie.

Technology wood

                                The Process of my jeep.
This week in our tech class we were doing our wood project. So today I am showing you the process of making my jeep and here is my making process of my jeep.

Also in this photo in the right side this is  my friend project and he is making a plane. The only thing he needs is to make is his wheel.

Here is my photo with my jeep and the only thing I need is my wheels. So I will wait for my teacher Mr Grundy to finish off and then I put my photo of my finish jeep in the next post.
Step 1. I used a pencil, ruler, the wood I'm using, and a big paper to make a full size working drawing of my jeep because when we make a mistake it in paper it is really easy to fix it, but when we make a mistake on wood we can't fix it.

Step 2. I used a ruler and pencil to copy the measurements from my drawing onto the wood to start making my jeep.

Step 3. I marked a square line (at 90 degrees) across and down the sides using a Tri-square, pencil and a ruler. When I finish I check with Mr Grundy.

Step 4. Once he says it all right I then cut off the first piece of wood using a backed saw and a bench hook.

Step 5. I then marked out my measurement for my joint using a ruler, pencil, Tri square, and a 230 long foot wood. And so I then measure out and marked out 60 for the front of my jeep. Then after that I then marked marked 20 for my joint, and in each side I marked half way.

Step 6. After I marked I then checked out with Mr Grundy to see if it was all right.

Step 7. When he says all right I then cut off my joint halfway were I marked using a bench hook, and backed saw.

Step 8. After cutting my joint halfway I then used a wood chisel and mallet to cut off the wood inside  my joint.

Step 9. I then got another wood and marked out 100 in the wood. Because this was the piece to put in my joint I made.

Step 10. So I checked with Mr Grundy to see if my measurement was all right.

Step 11. Once he checks it I then cut my piece of wood using a backed saw and bench hook.

Step 12. When I finish cutting my piece of wood off I then gave it to Mr Grundy to make the window. Because the piece of wood was for my joint and the my jeep window.

Step 13.  Mr Grundy gave me another wood to make my back boot for my jeep.

Step 14. I measure and marked out 40 using a Tri square, ruler, and pencil. Because this was my back part.

Step 15. Once finish I check with Mr Grundy and so he glue it and I waited 30 minutes.

Step 16. When the piece is glue and dry it was the part of doing the side of the jeep.

Step 17.  Me and Mr Grundy went to one of his machine and he cutted off a thin piece of cardboard for my door in my jeep.

Step 18. He then traced out the seat of my jeep in that thin cardboard, and I traced it.

Step 19. After tracing I check it out with Mr Grundy and then he cutted off the seat.

Step 20. When Mr Grundy finish he glue my two side door for my jeep and he explain to me to leave it for 30 minute.

Step 21. When 30 minutes finish I went to Mr Grundy and he told me to follow him and he build the seat inside it. So he glue it and I have to wait 30 minutes.

Step 22. After waiting for the sides to dry for 30 minute I then needed only one thing and it's my wheels.

I think it was really cool because it was new to me, but I learnt a lot from my teacher. Our task we were doing angles and I kind of thought that it was tricky but easy from the help of my teacher. Bringing back extinct species is worthwhile.

Walt: express an opinion on a topic.

Have you ever thought about bringing back extinct species is worthwhile? In my opinion I believe that De-extinction is worthwhile. Because did you know that extinct animals are very useful in many ways, Wow! Fascinating right.This week I will be explaining to you the three main reasons which is justice, environmental benefits, and Wonder.So  show you why bringing back extinct species is worthwhile.

Have you ever wonder us humans should owe the extinct animals? Thinking of it yes we do, because have you ever thought that we were doing the opposite thing. Us humans were trying to push the animals and plants to extinction. I think we shouldn’t do it because the animals were doing the right thing while we were the wrong thing. So scientists are trying to bring them back. 

Extinct animals can help our ecosystem when it is damaged or threatened. Because whatever happens to our ecosystem it can be restored with the help of our now extinct animals, Which is really interesting.

How cool would it be to see extinct species alive. Because it will be a great chance to study more about our passed animal. Also thinking of it, I think it will be great to see them kicking back again. 

Overall this is why bringing back extinct species animal is worthwhile. So I really think that extinct species can actually be very useful. So I really recommend to bring back extinct animals back.

Task description: This week our purpose in writing was to express our opinion about the topic we were doing. So in our class our topic was bringing back extinct species is or is not worthwhile. We have to decide between if we agree or not. After choosing we then write about the topic in our own words. Once we finish we then proof read it and post it on our blog.

Fragile web of life

This term our main focus on inquiry is that we were trying to understanding the web of life. In my class I was taking notes and writing what that I learnt. This was very interesting. Because I learnt new things about what I am learning. This is what I learnt in inquiry.

Taking Note:
  • many of years all species have evolved.
  • All organisms are connected and allies.
  • Living animals emerge in land.
  • Life first emerged in the ocean 3.5 billion years .
  • Light, energy, water, and air these are the elements that made life possible. 
  • Diverse Climates and landscapes, different too.
  • Over millions of years amazing habitats and ecosystems developed.
Food chain - Whats the connection between bees and tiger:

Well the part I was really interested that a bee can affect tiger in the food chain. First of all starting with the bee’s  it reproduce the pollinate from the flower and it makes the flower grow. Then the herbivores ( Vegetarian animals ) eat the flower. Then once the herbivores eat the flower then the carnivores ( Meat animals ) eat the herbivore and all together it creates a food chain. But if the bee were starting to get extinct then the tiger is going to get affected because without the bees the tiger won’t live longer but shorter.


Fossil fuels The good thing and bad thing:

Fossil fuels can be use for cars, electricity, oil heating and many more. It is made out of animals or plants that have pass many years ago, that is now gone. But the thing about fossil fuels which is bad that fossil fuel is not reusable. Because once it is use you can't go back.

The meaning of the quote Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web he does to himself:  

The meaning of this quote is that all of us humans didn't created the web of life ( Generation of animals to humans ). He is part of the web of life which is that he is connected to the pass. Whatever he does to the web of life he does it to himself. Like when he does anything wrong he is affecting himself because he is connected to the web of life.

Task description: This week it is term 3. In our math class we are doing measurement. I was very challenge by the our math work. Because I sometime get confuse with my measurement but my teacher help me on some. When I was working on my work it was very interesting but I learnt a lot now and I finish it.  Have you ever been to a big event before? Well on Saturday 13th of july me and my family went to see the matariki lights at maybury reserve. It was so cool looking at the lights because the lights were so  beautiful and very bright. I really hope you like my matariki writing and feel free to comment too.

When we went to see the matariki light trail my eyes were sparkling in amaze. Because I was really excited to watch the matariki lights, but my favorite part was when the fireworks would explode at 9:00.  While we were exploring around I saw many different animals there and also I saw some of my friends too. During the time we were walking, we then saw my auntys aand cousin over there at that corner. We were having a great time playing with each other while all the moms were talking to each other.

After a long time we then all had a meeting to meet each other nearby taniwha street. Once we all gather up it was me and my cousin Tolia was walking with each other. We saw huge circles with vibrant colours exploding everywhere. So we decided to take my brother there and jump on it but it was very slippery but not really.

By the time we were playing it was a very exhausted expierence. I decided we should have a break so then me and my family we to sit on those bench near taniwha road but I don't know the name. After having a long break suddenly my brother was gone and I was so furious at him. Because when I look at the left side he disappear running to the matariki sign trying to climb on it. Wow! He was very energetic because he was running everywhere but me and my cousin Tolia caught him.

Waiting a long time for the firework to happen it was time to go home. I was sad but happy to have watch the matariki light trail. Why we went? Because my little brother was tired so we walked back home saying goodbye. I was sad but I remember that I could still see it at my house so I was very happy!

At the time it was 9:00pm it was very noisy because everywhere there was bright colours exploding. I was really shock but enjoying the moment. Overall I think that it was a very cool adventure going with my family at the last day of the matariki trail. I hope you enjoy it bye.

What we did in tech and my project I am doing.


Today in hard material we are starting to design and do some hard work. In hard material I am up to the designing part and so my project I am doing is a jeep. I really enjoyed doing this experience. Because I really learnt heaps of things about wood and tools. In hard material our teachers name is Mr Grundy and he is very kind. Today we have to write about our project we are going to do and below is my writing I did.

I chose to make a Jeep for my younger brother. This is the best choice because he loves playing with his toy trucks, cars, and his plane. I really wanted to make this for him because he wants a Jeep to play with. It will be used as a toy for him to play outside in the dirt. I will need to consider it being strong because he plays rough. Also I need to consider sanding it down so he won't get hurt.

Today in Room five we have been learning about coordinate. I really think it was very hard. Because in my group we were quite struggling about our coordinate but we still got through it.

In our group my buddies were Julius, Devontae, Rosiephine, and me. And around every group all of us were struggling about where is the treasure. So then after 5 minute Mrs Ilaoa explain to us about coordinate. I was very interested and keen. Because I have really learn new thing about math and our longitude and latitude.

Well my favourite part about math class that we get to work together. And also we all decided to pick for our norm support each other with our learning for today. I really enjoy learning new things and I really think once I have learnt it I will be very good at the dmic we have been doing.

Walt: Improving our writing to the standard of  year 7/8
Task description:
Hello guys and welcome back. Today is now Term 2 and I am very excited to learn new things. And also today we had our Immersion assembly and I really think it was awesome! In Immersion Assembly our theme was I like your latitude.

I think it was very stylist. Because we were watching each of the teacher show their presentation for term 2. I knew they were very funny and creative work. I really enjoy all of the item but I have to say my favorite one was our block team 5. Because I enjoy seeing them acting and they were very talented.

During each item my favorite story was Team 5. Becuae Ms.Tapuke was Travelling around the world. Firstly she went to Paris were Mrs Stone was the person speaking France. Secondly it she went to North america and sawed Mrs Moala there. Lastly Ms. Tapuke traveled to Asia and  Africa to see lion and leopard.

Overall I really enjoyed all of the item and our Immersion assembly. I really recommand that  this term will be a lot of event going on for this term. I think this term will be heaps of new things we are learning about latitude and longitude.

Textile project 2

Task description: This week I am here at Tamaki college to do textile. I am very happy because I am spending time with my friends name Amira, Anania, George, and many more. Today I am  learning all about sewing with a machine. I thought it would be easy but instead it was tricky. So after finishing we had a awesome time doing this. Here is my work I did at textile!

This book is about Melanie Cheung  who is a Neurobiologist that study brains.
Melanie Cheung is trying to find a cure for people who have huntington's deases. Her
heritage is Maori and the brain is very Tapu which mean sacred.


My rating about the book:

I think it is a 4 out of 5 because it is very interesting to learn new stuff. And also I
really like knowing different stuff about the brain and discover something great about our
brain.

In my thoughts I really enjoy this book! Because this book is about a girl who have a Aotearoa dad, and a Samoan Mum which she is beracial. In this book she have been tease many of time just because of her appearence so she was a bit sad about that. So when he grandma walk with her she was really embarrass about herself, so then her grandma gave her an advice and told a story about her mother being a first samoan lawyer.
